The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University reports 95.4% of American households make charitable donations. Ever wonder how that generosity plays out here in Central Texas?
According to an analysis of 2013 tax returns performed by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Travis County residents donated 2.67% of their adjusted gross income to charity, with a median contribution of $3,350.
Elsewhere in Texas, Harris County gave 3.73%, and Dallas County gave 4.30% of their adjusted gross income.
