Introducing the 2015 Rodman Report

Philanthropy is an important part of any community, and while giving back is an integral part of life for central Texas, there was no data on how local businesses – large or small – were involved in philanthropy.

There was an interest in gauging how a company’s giving plan can help it meet its income, HR, and market share goals. Working with partners AustinGives, the United Way for Greater Austin, the Austin Chamber, and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas, we set out to gather that data.

The Rodman Report is designed to understand how companies give back, how they engage their employees in giving, and which organizations they support.

Highlights from the study:

  • 95% of companies indicated they give back to the community
  • About 87% made a monetary donation in 2014
  • 66% reported providing volunteer hours (reported hours added up to 21,251 40-hour workweeks of volunteer time!)

The full report provides in-depth information on the causes they chose to support and employers’ motivations for giving. You can find the report here: 2015 Rodman Report
